Hubpages is easily, and far away the best site for writing on the net.  Wordpress is nice, but why on Earth would you pay money to use it?  Sure, they have a free wordpress setup, but hubpages blows that so far out of the water that it's not even funny, and it's a helpful, awesome writer's community that you can and will make many friends on.

The above link isn't mine, but it's a great article about how you can make money with your writing on hubpages.  I am a Google adsense affiliate, and I now write the same nonsense that I always have, but now I get paid for it.
